PESHAWAR: Another patient succumbed to the deadly dengue virus in Peshawar on Friday, rising the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease to 31 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Also, 250 more people were found dengue positive in the province.
The latest dengue victim was identified as Pukhraja, daughter of Imdad Khan. She was 60 years old and a resident of Sufaid Dheri area in Pishtakhara Union Council,
where hundreds of people have been infected by the dengue virus.
According to the Health Department, 1,513
patients were taken
to different hospitals on Friday. Of them, 250 were tested dengue positive after screening.
Up to 84 were admitted in the hospitals while
88 patients were discharged after doctors declared
them physically healthy. As per the statement
of the Health Department, 362 dengue patients
were under treatment at different hospitals of the province.
