IGP reviews DIK security arrangements for Muharram

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Inspector General of Police Salahuddin Mehsud on Thursday said that the security arrangements had been made for maintaining peace and security during Muharram.

He was addressing the local elders and peace committee members during his visit to Dera Ismail Khan. He also presided over a meeting of the police officers.

Addressing the elders and members of peace committee, the police chief assured that strict security arrangements had been made for maintaining peace in all sensitive districts.

He said no one would be allowed to disturb peace during Muharram.”There would be zero tolerance. No one will be allowed to disrupt peace,” he added.

The local elders assured the IGP of complete cooperation in maintaining peace during Muharram. Later, a joint meeting of police and army officers was held to finalise security arrangements. The meeting was jointly presided over by IGP Salahuddin Mehsud and General Officer Commanding of 9 Division Major General Nauman Zakria.

Regional Police Officer of Dera Ismail Khan, Syed Fida Hassan Shah, briefed the participants about the security arrangements made for Muharram. The IGP and 9 Division GOC gave necessary instruction to beef up the security arrangements.
