UHS board considers thesis reports

LAHORE :The 129th meeting of Advanced Studies and Research Board of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) was held on Thursday with Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Junaid Sarfraz Khan in the chair.

According to a press release issued here, the board considered the thesis reports of Dr Uzma Zaheen Anwar MPhil (Forensic Medicine), Dr Hafiz Ather Farooq MPhil (Haematology), Humaira Najma MPhil (Medical Laboratory Sciences - Molecular Pathology & Cytogenetics), Dr Khalid Ur Rahman MD (Internal Medicine), Dr Muhammad Bin Safdar MD (Cardiology), Dr Hafiz Muhammad Nasir MS (Orthopaedics), Dr Huma Hussain MPhil (Physiology) and Dr Shaher Bano MPhil (Oral Biology).

PHF meeting: Punjab Minister for Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique presided over a meeting of Board of Directors of Punjab Health Foundation (PHF) at Civil Secretariat on Thursday.

According to a handout issued here, Special Secretary and Managing Director of PHF Dr Sajid Mehmood Chohan, officers from Finance Department and other officers attended the meeting. The BoD approved the minutes of the previous meeting. The meeting also reviewed different development schemes of the foundation. Different options were discussed for the investment of reserved funds of the foundation.

The minister directed the authorities concerned that a consultation meeting with the finance secretary and other officers concerned should be called to take their point of view in this matter and negotiations should be made with different scheduled banks for the purpose.
