38-year-old man shot dead in Manghopir

A 38-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the city’s Ghazi Goth area late on Thursday night.

Manghopir SHO Kamal Naseem identified the victim as Khalid Hussain, son of Manzoor Shah, and said he had been targeted by unidentified gunmen near the Siraj Muneera mosque located in Ghazi Goth. As per the officer, the victim had been shot multiple times at close range and had passed away on the spot before medical help could arrive.

Hussain’s body had been shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities. SHO Naseem said the motive of the murder was yet to be ascertained but investigators were exploring all possible aspects. 

 

Two electrocuted

Two men died in separate incidents of electrocution in the city on Thursday. A 35-year-old man died of an electric shock at his house in Railway Colony.

Mithadar police SHO Javed Jalbani identified the victim as Khalilur Rehman and said he was switching on a water pump at his house when suffered a power electric shock from a loose wire. In another incident, a 50-year-old man died of electric shock near Mauripur Gate No. 6.

Mauripur police SHO Niaz Panhwar said the victim, Shahidullah, was a labourer and was working on a site near Gate No. 6 when he suffered a powerful electric shock. The victim, who was a resident of the Mauripur area, died on the spot before medical help could arrive.
