Foreign policy failure behind change in US attitude: Elahi

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) leader Ch Pervaiz Elahi has said change in the US policy about Pakistan is the result of failure of Nawaz Sharif’s foreign policy. If he had paid any attention to the foreign policy of Pakistan during the last four years, this would not have happened, he said.

Commenting on the scenario after American president’s recent criticism of Pakistan regarding war on terror in Afghanistan, Ch Pervaiz Elahi said even after 70,000 martyred in the war on terror, the government could not have courage to reply to the US threats.

Talking to a students’ delegation at his residence on Sunday, Ch Pervaiz Elahi said Pakistan is the only Islamic country of the world which has achieved success in war on terror, Pakistan case about war on terror is strong in every respect because of this even China and Russia have termed US president’s criticism of Pakistan improper, but the problem is that the present government has no international vision, alleging for the last four years the government has been trying to discredit army engaged in war against terror.

The difficulties Pakistan is facing today on external front are because of Nawaz Sharif’s pro-India and anti-army policies, he alleged.Ch Pervaiz Elahi said by giving a befitting response to President Trump’s open threats, army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa saved the honour of Pakistani nation. He has truly represented sentiments of Pakistani nation by saying if the US do not value Pakistan sacrifices in the war against terrorism, Pakistan also does not need US aid, Pakistan can also fight its war against terrorism without the US aid and defend itself.
