Centre accused of usurping provinces’ rights
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakh-tunkhwa Finance Minister Muzaffar Said has alleged that the federal government has usurped the rights of the provinces, which is why sense of despair among the federating units continues to intensify.
He was talking to reporters after the preparatory meeting on the National Finance Commission (NFC) at his office at the Civil Secretariat on Friday.
Muzaffar said the provincial government had written to the president to convene the NFC meeting, but the president’s office had yet not given any feedback.
He added that after the 18th Amendment, the federal government, in violation of the Constitution, continued to deny provinces due rights.
Prof Ibrahim Khan said that the province had prepared to present its due demands at the upcoming NFC meeting.
