Patriotism and optimism

The young generation is an asset for any country. It plays a significant role in development and progress. However, in Pakistan, the young generation doesn’t have the optimism and the passion to contribute to the welfare of the country. The main problem for this sad state of affairs is that young people in our country are frustrated by political instability, economic imbalances and bad governance. A majority of them want to leave the country and settle abroad. On its surface, it seems as the young generation should be blamed for not being patriotic. But this isn’t the case. The young generation is living in a country which is going through a tough phase. The lack of facilities, deteriorating standards of education and the scarcity of resources have failed to make the country an ideal place to live in. Young people are fed up of not having enough career opportunities.

Since a majority of young people have no constructive work to do, they spend most of the time on the internet, especially on social media. A large amount of time is spent listening to music, watching movies and playing games. These people will keep wasting their times if they are not introduced to new opportunities. Every education institute should make internships compulsory. In this way, these people will realise their responsibility and become even more disciplined. Their contributions will help the country prosper.
