Man kills ‘friend’ over petty issue

LAHORE: A man killed his friend over a petty issue in Manga Mundi police limits on Monday. Police have removed the body to morgue for autopsy while the accused is at large. The victim was identified as Ateeq Awan, 24, a resident of Bhakkar. He was working at a spinning mill near Nehlay village. He was living in factory quarters along with his friend Moazzam. A couple of days back, both friends had scuffled with each other over an unknown issue. The locals settled the issue but Moazzam nurtured a grudge against the victim. On the day of the incident, he attacked the victim with a knife and left him seriously injured. He was rushed to hospital where he died. Police after being informed reached the scene and collected forensic evidence.
