Doctor’s absence results in woman’s death
HANGU: Relatives of two women who died at a hospital in Hangu staged protest against the hospital administration on Friday.
The relatives said they had brought Nagina Bibi, 38, to the hospital after she suffered from high blood pressure.
“No doctor was present on duty at the hospital and she died due to non-availability of medical aid,” said one of the relatives.
Her 22-year-old daughter, Shabina, who had accompanied her mother to the hospital, also died of cardiac arrest after her mother’s death.
When contacted, Dr Fida Hussain, the doctor on duty, said that he reported for duty a bit late.
The relatives of the women staged a protest against the Medical Superintendent Dr Ziaur Rehman and asked the government to order an inquiry into the incident.
