Eight years after the 2009 Sri Lankan team attack, the Sri Lankan cricket board has announced the team’s tour to Pakistan to play one Twenty20 match in Lahore. It is heartening for cricket fans that the foreign team is ready to tour the country. International cricket in Pakistan came to an abrupt stop when the Sri Lankan team was attacked by terrorists in 2009. Although all players and officials were unhurt, the attack created doubts and concerns among international cricket boards.

It is widely believed that owing to the successful Pakistan Super League (PSL) final, which was played this year, the confidence of international teams have gone up. At least nine foreign players took part in the tournament’s final match that was held in Lahore. A former Australian cricketer, Dean Jones, said that he was thrilled that the Sri Lankan team will be touring Pakistan. The news has created excitement among all cricket lovers. This is a proud thing for the Pakistani cricket team. When the national team will play on the home ground, it will feel more confident. The PCB should be applauded for conducting a successful event in the past. The PSL final has opened the door for many opportunities.
