Motocross dirt bike track race held at Ayub National Park
Rawalpindi: A motocross dirt bike race was organized at Ayub National Park Rawalpindi on the Independence Day. Apart from other sports competitions like cricket and football the dirt bike race is organised at Ayub National Park Rawalpindi on independence day every year. This particular activity not only added colour to the Independence Day celebrations but also discourages one-wheeling and other dangerous stunts done by the youngsters by putting their life into danger as well as others on the roads.
The race was a free for all bikers without any entry fee for those who possess a valid driving license and were provided with free dirt bikes and protective gear from the organisation. The event was very successful and hundreds of youth were engaged including the spectators from all walks of like. The position holders were given cash prizes with trophies.
The most unique part of this event was the participation of girl bikers in the race for the first time ever in the country so far. The young girls were very excited and also motivated to participate in such thrill.
Director General Army Heritage Foundation Brigadier (r) Zaman Nasrullah Khan Niazi while talking to ‘The News’ said that they were striving for promotion of sports and adventure activities in the park especially for girls and that is quite evident from their participation in football, cricket and dirt biking. The aim is to educate youth to make use of grounds and tracks and avoid doing dangerous and life threatening activities on the roads, he added.
