KP govt will not spare corrupt: CM
NOWSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Tuesday vowed not to spare anyone found involved in corruption in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“We will not let any politician or bureaucrats involved in corruption to escape accountability,” he told a ceremony after performing the ground-breaking of Media Colony and inaugurating a type-D hospital here.
Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation Mian Jamsheduddin Kakakhel, District Nazim Liaqat Khattak, Member National Assembly Imran Khattak and others were also present.
Pervez Khattak said the process of accountability in the country had started with the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif. “A powerful household is facing accountability. It is the beginning of the process of accountability and more plunderers of people wealth would be held accountable in the coming days,” he predicted.
He claimed the corruption of the Sharif family stood exposed in the Panama Papers Leaks case.
“The entire Sharif family is facing a legal challenge in the offshore holding case. The powerful corrupt family is being taken to task due to the tireless struggle of Pakistan Thereek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan,” he added.
The chief minister said that he would not claim eliminating corruption entirely but a visible decrease in the volume of corruption in the government departments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa can be seen.
Pervez Khattak said that the Awami National Party (ANP) and Pakistan People’s Party were the most corrupt parties. He added that he had spent time in the two parties and knew about the scale of corruption by the ministers and leaders of these parties.
He said the PTI-led provincial government had controlled corruption in the government departments and upheld merit in fresh recruitments.
