Sports minister stars in Chief Minister XI triumph
KARACHI: Sindh sports minister Sardar Bakhsh Meher scored a half-century, while Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah made 28 runs as Chief Minister XI won the Naya Nazimabad Independence Day Festival Cricket match against Governor XI on D/L method here at the Lawai Cricket Stadium.
Batting first, the Chief Minister XI made 150 for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs. Meher made 61 studded with eight fours and a six. Shah struck three boundaries and a six. Nabeel Hashmi, Fawad Ijaz and Haji Ashraf picked up two wickets apiece.
Governor XI had made 109 for two in 14 overs when it started raining. Rafiq Ghaziani made 32 not out, hitting three boundaries and a six.Ali Bakhsh Meher was named the Man of the Match and Nabeel Hashmi the Best Bowler.
