FAISALABAD: The Supreme Court has given a historic decision in the Panama Leaks case by disqualifying Nawaz Sharif as the prime minister, said All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) chairman and former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf.

Addressing an Istehkam-e-Pakistan conference through a video link at Iqbal Park on Saturday night, he alleged that Nawaz Sharif amassed wealth by misusing his power and did nothing to improve the living standard of the masses. Musharraf criticised Nawaz Sharif and alleged that he persuaded unwise policies during his three tenures. He said that he was in contact with different political parties to muster their support for a great alliance to save the country from the clutches of looters, who were constantly coming to power by exploiting sentiments of the poor and downtrodden people. Nawaz Sharif was misleading the nation and an eight-party grand alliance would expose him in the public meetings, Musharraf added.

He said that the people had been fed up with the unrealistic policies of the government and hoped that the politically conscious people would judicially exercise the right of vote in the 2018 general elections.

APML leaders, including Ahmad Raza Kasuri and Syed Faqir Hussain Bokhari, Sunni Ittehad Council chairman Sahibzada Hamid Raza, National Muslim League chairman Amjad Warraich and others also addressed the conference.
