The ever busy 6th Road would experience traffic jams in coming owing to uncontrolled construction of commercial plazas and multi-storey buildings of educational institutions.

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) which supposed to check construction of commercial building bye-laws has also closed its eyes over the whole activity.

In addition to already present private schools franchises, at least four to five new multi-storey buildings of schools and colleges are under construction while three to four plazas are also being raised having no parking place. The ongoing trend shows that the commuters would have to face traffic jams on the 6h Road which is about one and half kilometres long, even after schools timings.

Recently, a renowned franchise of schools has opened its four-storey buildings at 6th Road near Saidpur Road which means that traffic would remain jam at Siddiqui Chowk in morning and afternoon times.

Most of the residential buildings on 6th Road which about 20 years back used to give deserted look, have been converted into commercial buildings. The owners of commercial buildings have covered maximum area of their plots without taking care space for parking of vehicles.

The commuters which have been using 6th Road for many years feel that traffic was smooth on this road about 10 years back and they preferred to travel on it to reach Murree Road to reach Islamabad or Saddar but now it looks that they have to look for some other alternativee routes.

It may be pointed out here that the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) had declared whole the 6th Road as commercial area.
