Traffic plan devised

LAHORE: Lahore Chief Traffic Officer SSP Rai Ijaz Ahmad has said that a comprehensive traffic plan has been devised to ensure traffic flow on the occasion of PML-N's convoy. The CTO issued the traffic plan while speaking at Qilla Gujjar Singh Police Lines on Wednesday.

The route from Imamia Colony towards Barkat Town Puli, Shahdara Railway Station, Shahdara Chowk, Ravi Toll Plaza, Niazi Shaheed Chowk, Timber Market Chowk, Azadi Fly Over, U-turn Peer Makki, and Darbar Data Sahib has been divided into 11 sectors. One DSP will supervise one sector. Six medical camps had been established to provide first aid to citizens in case of emergency. 

On 11 August, GT Road from Gujranwala to Imamia Colony Railway Gate, Shahdara, and the road from Niazi Shaheed Chowk to Data Darbar might be closed for traffic due to ex-prime minister's convoy. The travellers from Southern Punjab who want to go to Rawalpindi via GT Road, Lahore, may travel from Lahore via motorways. Travelers from Lahore to Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Peshawar and Azad Kashmir should use motorways. 

To access the motorways in Lahore, Thokar Niaz Baig and Babu Sabu Interchange will be open for all kind of traffic and additional force of traffic wardens will be deputed there to facilitate the citizens. Saagian Bridge will also be open for the traffic of Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Jaranwala, and Sheikhupura. Travellers have been asked to use Old Ravi Bridge to reach Lahore from Shahdara Town, Kala Khatai, Rasool Park and Bahar Shah Colony.  Citizens of Shahdara, Wandala, Jia Mosa, Begum Kot, Farrukhabad will use Saagian Bridge to reach Lahore.  The vehicles from Narowal, Narang Mandi via Kala Khatai Road, Haji Kot, will enter Lahore through Old Ravi Bridge.

The traffic coming from GT Road will enter motorways at Kala Shah Kaku Interchange to reach Lahore via Saagian, Babu Sabu and Thokar Niaz Baig. The Mall, Canal Road, Ferozepur Road, Bund Road and Ring Road will be open for traffic.  Metro bus will be closed from MAO College to Shahdara but it will run from MAO College to Gajjumatta.
