LAHORE: The United Teachers Council (UTC) Punjab has announced staging a sit-in and besieging Punjab Civil Secretariat on August 10 for, what it claimed, no progress vis-à-vis upgradation and other issues faced by schoolteachers in the province. This was decided in meeting of the UTC Punjab’s core committee presided over by central convener Tariq Mahmood on Thursday. The meeting also observed that no notification had so far been withdrawn vis-à-vis detaching 13 schools from Daanish Schools Authority while no progress was being witnessed regarding withdrawal of “unjustified inquiries” against the schoolteachers.
