SYDNEY: Dutch midfielder Wout Brama has joined Australian A-League outfit Central Coast Mariners in a two-year deal, the club said Sunday.

Brama, 30, becomes the second Dutch signing ahead of the new season kicking off in October following the recruitment of Tom Hiariej.Defensive midfielder Brama has more than 300 games of experience in the Eredivisie with FC Twente and PEC Zwolle and joins from FC Utrecht, who finished fourth in last season’s Dutch league.

Brama made an appearance for the Dutch national team coming off the subs bench against Paraguay in 2009.“I have been playing in the Netherlands for a long time now so I was very excited when the Central Coast Mariners expressed their interest,” Brama said.“For me it’s a great step, a big adventure to play abroad, so I am very excited to play there.” —AFP
