SHO beaten, uniform torn
NAWABSHAH: Station House Officer of Police Station Qamaruddin, District Naushahro Feroze, was beaten and his uniform was torn by the people of the Zardari tribe. Moreover, after receiving the information, the police were reluctant to rescue him.
The suspended Station House Officer, Mir Muhammad Rind, while addressing a press conference at the Nawabshah Press Club, said that he was moving in a police mobile when he witnessed some persons near the Jamal Shah Link Road beating one person with sticks and the road was blocked for traffic.
He said that on enquiring, one influential person came near him and slapped him and ordered Ahmed Zardari to teach him a lesson. The SHO said that he was beaten and the uniform was torn. He said that he called for police help but none turned up. However, on reaching Moro he was brought to the Moro Police Station, where SSP Naushahro Feroze advised to him to keep his lips sealed.
He said that the FIR was registered in late night, when the matter came in the media, whereas he was suspended from duty. He said that the influential accused Ahmed Zardari had earlier also attacked the police and misbehaved with staff and threatened him with dire consequences. He demanded the IG Police Sindh and high officials to conduct an impartial enquiry into the issue and provide protection and justice or he would go for self immolation.
