PHC halts Bajaur IDPs eviction from Risalpur camp
PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday stopped the government from dispossessing the internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Bajaur Agency from a camp in Risalpur in Nowshera district till the next order.
A division bench comprising Justice Lal Jan Khattak and Justice Abdul Shakoor stayed the dispossession of the IDPs from the camp at Benazir Complex, Risalpur.
The bench issued a notice to director, Fata Disaster Management Authority and Bajaur Agency political agent, directing them to submit reply in the writ petition of the IDPs.
The court passed the directions in the writ petition of IDPs, including Fazl-i-Amin, Idrees and Lal Bahadar, against their forced dispossession from the complex and non-implementation of the government’s commitments about compensation.
