Food factory sealed for unhygienic conditions

LAHORE: The Punjab Food Authority sealed a food factory while notices were issued to many others for various violations here on Wednesday. PFA officials said Food Authority DG along with his team raided Colonel Foods in Sheikhupura and sealed the factory for severe unhygienic sanitary conditions, presence of insects, use of banned food colours, etc. The PFA team also destroyed a huge quantity of substandard edible products. Meanwhile, the PFA also increased the size of its vigilance cell and 15 new officials were hired, the officials said, adding the cell was expanded to identify the persons involved in adulteration across the province.
