ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who will be returning home from the Maldives today (Thursday) afternoon would have extensive political consultation sessions with his close political aides tomorrow (Friday) to sort out political imbroglio created by his opponents.

The prime minister will be briefed about the developments soon after returning to the Prime Minister House today by federal ministers Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Khawaja Saad Rafiq.

The both were part of the team that had a marathon meeting with Federal Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan in Punjab House on Wednesday to woo him.

The sources said that Chudhary Nisar Ali Khan has reportedly assured the team under Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif that he would be the last person who would hurt the interests of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) and the government but he wouldn’t give up the right to ascertain the causes and reason for keeping him away from the consultation process since he is among the founders of the party. “He believes that the people who created the situation are responsible for the difficulties being confronted by the party and government.”

The sources close to the Chaudhary said and reminded that the Interior Minister keens to know that the leadership has made fair assessment of the situation or not.

Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan is recovering steadily from his backache and it is likely that he would fully recover by next week. A meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz and Chaudhary Nisar could be possible week end, the sources hinted.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will evolve strategy for dealing with upcoming developments after having expanded consultations tomorrow as he has planned to proceed to Lahore on Saturday in accordance to his routine.

His Friday’s engagements are also included review of work on Balloki power plant and construction Kutchi Canal in Balochistan that would turn the province into green. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will inaugurate the two projects in a couple of days, the sources added.  Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who visited the Maldives as per schedule had useful talks with the leadership of that country as the two countries have entered number of agreements catering tourism, environment, education, training of civil servants and defence.

The visit that contained over 48 hours couldn’t be underrated since the Maldives has supported Pakistan’s position on Saarc at the face of the India’s desire to keep Pakistan away from the international community.  Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who has developed intimate ties with the Central Asian States and other important capitals successfully has made a conspicuous visit of the Maldives which is also member of the Saarc, OIC, Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and the United Nations.
