TIMERGARA: The residents of Balambat on Wednesday staged protest outside the district nazim and deputy commissioner offices against excessive power outages and low voltage.
Speaking on the occasion, nazim neighbourhood council (NC) Malakabad Malik Nawab Alam and naib nazim Malik Ali Bakht condemned Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) officials for carrying out the worst loadshedding in the district headquarters.
They criticised District Nazim Muhammad Rasool Khan and Deputy Commissioner Lower Dir Attaur Rahman for their failure to check the unscheduled power outages in the district headquarters.
They questioned as to how the two could resolve grievances of the public if they were unable to address the issues of the district headquarters where they themselves were residing. “Since the holy month of Ramazan low voltage and fluctuations had caused heavy losses to the residents of Balambat as electronic appliances worth millions of rupees had been damaged and the residents were faced with endless miseries,” he added.
They demanded the Pesco chief and executive engineer of Lower Dir to take notice of the situation, otherwise, they would besiege the Pesco office in Balambat.
