High fee
Education standards in AJK are not satisfactory. The number of state-owned schools in the region is rapidly decreasing. Substandard state-owned education institutions have given rise to private schools. Now, a majority of people who can afford high fee at private education institutions are sending their children to private schools. The truth is the government is also not working diligently to uplift the education sector in the region. Schools that were damaged by earthquake have still not been reconstructed even after the lapse of so many years.
Only poor children are getting education in state-owned schools because they cannot afford private school expenses. The incumbent government should take immediate steps to control the situation. It must also take notice of teachers’ absenteeism. All the concerned authorities must take steps to avert the decline of education in the region.
