Iftikhar calls for full implementation of NAP
NOWSHERA: Awami National Party (ANP) general secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain said on Monday that terrorists were still active in the country and region.
Speaking at the condolence reference that marked the seventh death anniversary of Mian Rashid Hussain Shaheed, his lone son, here he condemned the terrorists attacks in Lahore and Afghanistan.
He asked the rulers to implement the National Action Plan (NAP) in the letter and spirit.
The ANP leader said security forces, government and other state institutions should play an active role in taking the war to its logical conclusion.
Mian Iftikhar said terrorists were still targeting common citizens at will. He stressed the need for unity to defeat these forces of darkness. He said terrorist organisations, including ISIS, were regrouping and targeting innocent civilians. He alleged that foreign forces were supporting these terrorists.
The ANP leader claimed that the killer of his son identified as commander Qayyum had been arrested in Karachi.
Qayyum was driver of Baitullah Mehsud, he added. He said on the disclosure of the Qayyum another militant Kalim was also arrested.
