The provincial education and literacy department on Monday served show-cause notices to more than 100 employees of various grades who are facing corruption charges.
According to a departmental notification, more than 100 officers of Grade 17 to Grade 19 including district education officers, assistant education officers, principals, headmasters and other officials have been issued show-cause notices on corruption charges.
As per the notification, the officers were involved in embezzlement and excessive use of funds. The officers are mostly from districts Kandiaro, Shaheed Benazirabad, Kamber, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Shahdadkot, Sanghar and Kandhkot.
“Those employees who have been allowed retirement from government service on superannuation but found guilty of corruption are also being taken to task and appropriate action against such officers is being initiated in consultation with Regulation Wing of Services, General Administration and Coordination Department,” read the notification.
The communiqué quoted the provincial education minister, Jam Mehtab Dahar, as saying that no corrupt officers would be spared and all would be taken to task. He said that as many six principals, 48 headmasters, three District Education Officers, six Assistant District Officers and many other Grade 17 officers were found guilty after a departmental inquiry and necessary action was being taken against them.
