PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) provincial president and prime minister’s advisor Amir Muqam said on Sunday that people vote a politician to power and only they have the right to hold him accountable.

Addressing a press conference, he said that the case of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was not of accountability but a conspiracy against the country’s development. On the occasion, Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) leader Malik Nadim announced joining the PML-N.

He said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had locked the Ehtesab Commission to hide the corruption of its chief minister and ministers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while the PPP government in Sindh was reportedly cutting the powers of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). He said Imran Khan’s change was only seen on social media. He said the province would be turned into a graveyard for PTI in the 2018 general elections as the electorate had known the real faces of those raising the slogans of so-called change.

Amir Muqam said the PTI chief was seeking escape and had failed to provide the money trail, adding that Imran Khan was reluctant to provide details of offshore companies and present himself for search, which he demanded of others.

He said Imran Khan was trying to sabotage development projects in the name of the Panama Leaks and his lust for power. On the occasion, Malik Nadim along with his supporters announced quitting the QWP and joining PML-N.

Malik Nadim said that Nawaz Sharif had put the country on track to progress and prosperity while the past governments looted the exchequer. Reposing confidence in the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and Amir Muqam, he said the PML-N setup had the government of curbing terrorism and restoring peace, minimising power loadshedding and supplying natural gas to maximum of the population.
