ISLAMABAD: Illegally-detained chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik, was brought to a hospital in Srinagar on Sunday and later on sent back to the central jail after medical check-up despite his ailing condition.
A JKLF spokesman said Yasin Malik was brought to Modern Hospital in Srinagar of Indian-held Kashmir (IHK), where senior heart surgeon, Doctor Anil Bhan, examined him. He said that Yasin Malik's artificial heart valve was not functioning properly and had developed some faults.
He said doctor advised the JKLF chief to go for further medical examination to ascertain and diagnose the exact position of the heart valve. Yasin Malik is not feeling well for the last one month. He has spent more than half of previous year in jails and police stations and even now when he was not well he was immediately sent back to Srinagar central jail.
Meanwhile, a JKLF delegation visited Arwah area of Beerwah in Budgam district to show solidarity with the family of a youth, Tanveer Ahmad Wani. The youth was martyred on Friday in the firing of Indian Army on peaceful protesters in Beerwah.
Also, a delegation from Aanchar Soura in Srinagar visited the JKLF offices and narrated horrible stories of the reign of terror unleashed by the Indian police and paramilitary troops in the area.
The delegation said that the personnel were conducting house raids during night hours on daily basis and terrorising people. They said the people of the area were even being barred from going out of their houses. The JKLF strongly condemned the atrocities. –APP
