Man electrocuted in Sattukatla

LAHORE :A 40-year-old man was electrocuted while working in an under-construction building in the Sattukatla area on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Naeem, an electrician by profession and a resident of Nishat Colony. He was working in an under-construction hotel when he accidentally came in contact with a live high tension wire and suffered a severe electric shock, resulting in his death. Police have handed over the body to his heirs.

found dead: An 18-year-old youth was found dead in his house in the Chung area on Sunday. Police found the youth, identified as Tariq, lying dead in one of the rooms of his house. Police have removed the body to morgue.

commits suicide: A youth committed suicide by shooting himself in the head in the Shadbagh area on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Salim of Shadbagh. Police said that the man ended his life over some domestic issues. Police have handed over the body to his heirs after completing legal formalities.

Meanwhile, a woman, identified as Zahida, tried to end her life by taking poisonous pills in the Defence area. The woman has been admitted to hospital where her condition is stated to be critical.

road ACCIDENTS: A total 658 traffic crashes were reported in provincial monitoring cell of the Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) in all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours in which four lives were lost and 598 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant districts and tehsils.  However, some 165 victims who sustained minor injuries were discharged on the spot after giving them first aid by emergency medical teams. 

PHP: Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) claimed to have arrested 57 criminals, including 11 proclaimed offenders (POs) and a court absconder. PHP teams seized 169 litre liquor, 5731 gram charas, 20 pistols and four rifles from the possession of the arrested persons.

PHP teams also reunited nine children named Abdul Sattar, M Irfan, M Shaweez, Rukhsana Bibi, Ahmad, Ali Raza, Arman, Ghulam Mustafa and Ali Hassan with their parents. PHP also rendered help to 3,988 road users.
