The purpose of education
By our correspondents
July 23, 2017
According to Bertrand Russell, university education is essential for polishing a student’s intellect and grooming his character. A university is the highest level of learning and discovering one’s inherent potentials. It provides social, political and economic platform to speak and write freely. State-owned universities across the world receive sufficient grants to provide the best quality of education to students.
In our country, the standard of education is rapidly declining. The university that once groomed and polished young minds has now become a home to extremism and intolerance. The government needs to take measures to uplift the standard of state-owned universities across the country.
