Three die in accidents

LAHORE

Two people lost their lives when their bike collided with a dumper on Kahna Kacha Flyover on Saturday.

The two people, yet to be identified, were passing through Kahna Kacha Flyover when their bike collided with the dumper parked for the replacement of a tyre. They suffered injuries and were removed to hospital both succumbed to their injuries.

Meanwhile, 44-year-old man was killed by a speeding truck near Sadr Roundabout. The victim was identified as Yasar. He along with his wife was on his way when a speeding truck hit them, as a result of which, the couple suffered injuries.

found dead: A 50-year-old man, unidentified so far, was found dead in Lytton Road police jurisdiction on Saturday.

rewarded: The SSP Investigation gave away commendatory certificates to the investigating officers for pursuing cases to their legal end by getting the culprits punished through courts.

Those who received the commendatory certificates included CIA DSP Malik Daood, SI Gulzar Ahmad, SI Muhammad Akram and ASI Nawaz.

awareness: The CTO Lahore along with cricketer Hassan Ali visited a traffic awareness camp at Faisal Chowk, The Mall, on Saturday. 

Hassan distributed pamphlets among citizens. He urged the people to abide by traffic laws and appreciated efforts being made by traffic police for highlighting the importance of traffic laws.  Meantime, a 28-member delegation of under training Deputy Superintendent of Rangers called on the CCPO at his office here on Saturday. The delegation was led by Col Asghar.

displeasure: DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf has expressed extreme displeasure over the poor performance of SP Cantt Capt (r) Rana Tahir. Dr Haider got annoyed at the SP on seeing an increasing graph of heinous crimes especially crime against property during a crime review meeting. The DIG also issued letters of displeasure to almost all SDPOs of Cantt Division over poor supervision and failure to control crimes besides giving them last chance to improve their performance. He admonished a number of SHOs and issued show-cause notices to them.
