ISLAMABAD: The existing generation of entrepreneurs has the opportunity to dramatically expand the Pakistani startup ecosystem both at home and abroad, a US expert said on Saturday.
“Pakistani entrepreneurs and students I met this week have infectious energy and innovative business ideas to bring to the market,” said Dr Andrew Scheuermann, a global startup consultant and speaker, in a statement issued by US consulate.
“I hope they will benefit from our strategic discussions on startup finance and fundraising.”
Dr Scheuermann is the lead developing participant of StartX, one of the biggest startup accelerators in the world. He is also the founder of a venture-backed company ‘Arch Systems.’ He engaged with local entrepreneurs across Pakistan through American Embassy sponsored “Entrepreneurship Speaker Series 2017.”
During his visit, Dr Scheuermann shared his experiences helping American entrepreneurs collectively raise over $2 billion for their enterprises through the StartX community, as well as his experience founding. He spoke to audiences at venues such as the Islamabad Women’s Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Beaconhouse National University, and The Nest i/o. The U.S. Embassy Entrepreneurship Speaker Series has sponsored additional programmes to support Pakistani entrepreneurs focused on topics such as marketing, intellectual property rights, and the “dos and don’ts” of starting a business.
