LANDIKOTAL: A 16-year-old boy was killed when two rival parties exchanged fire in the Khugakhel village here, sources said on Sunday.

The sources said that Nako Shinwari and Wali Muhammad Shinwari families had had a land dispute since long. He said the rival party opened fire on a student identified as Hassan Ali, 16, and seriously injured him. He was rushed to hospital in Peshawar where he succumbed to his injuries.

Later, the Landikotal administration dispatched a contingent of Khassadars and Levies force personnel to control the situation. Locals said that he was the third person killed over the same land dispute between the two rival families.
