The second spell of heavy monsoon rain has started. Residents of the city are still complaining about the trouble they faced last month when the city witnessed the first spell of monsoon rain. Now, the rain has brought more troubles to the already distressed people.
Last time, blocked drains across the city disrupted the smooth flow of rainwater. The same is expected this time as well because the government took no action to clean the blocked drains. Unattended garbage mixed with standing rainwater will serve as the perfect breeding ground, resulting in the spread of mosquito-borne diseases. The concerned authorities must take steps to reduce the miseries of the people.
