Stray dogs are observed wandering on the streets of almost every city across the country. These poor souls live a hard life. They are always at risk of being hit by a speeding car. Many people in our country lack compassion. They torture animals for fun. Many stray dogs suffer from severe wounds when people, just to have a quick laugh, throw stones at them. They cry in pain, but their cries are neglected. What is even worse is poisoning these dogs. In fact, the local authorities also support this campaign carried out to mercilessly kill these animals.
We need to spread awareness that torturing animals is a crime. These animals are living beings and they too feel the pain inflicted on them. If people are worried because of the rapid increase in their population, they should get these dogs neutered. Also, instead of supporting the campaign that leave these dogs to die a painful death, the concerned authorities must establish dog shelters across the country where these dogs can live peacefully.
