Society’s role stressed to combat terror

BUREWALA: DCO Vehari Jawad Akram Saturday stressed society’s role in combating terrorism and extremism.
Addressing a peace seminar, the DCO urged all political and religious forces to take a united stand against terrorism.
He said the war on terrorism is actually a war against extremist ideology and it must continue until the defeat of extremism.
DPO Sadiq Ali Dogar urged civil society to defeat extremism at grass-roots level.
He said the war against terror should be fought on ideological, political and military levels.
MNA Syed Sajid Mehdi and MPA Muhammad Yusuf Kaseliya, Prof Rashid Sidhu also urged the people to realize their responsibility in the fight against terrorism.
The participants offered fateha for the martyrs of the Peshawar and Shikarpur tragedies.
Later, the participants took out a peace rally on college road.
