PTI moves resolution in KP Assembly to demand PM’s resignation
PESHAWAR: The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) submitted a resolution against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Wednesday to demand his resignation.
The resolution moved by PTI deputy parliamentary leader Shaukat Yousafzai, Ayesha Naeem, Zarin Zia, Nargas Ali, and Bibi Fauzia was submitted in the Assembly Secretariat. The resolution read, "After the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report submitted in the Supreme Court, the prime minister has no moral justification to further remain in office."
It said the PM and his family had failed to provide details of the money trial in the Panama Papers case, therefore, he should step down immediately. "Instead of the prime minister resignation, federal minister were passing derogatory remarks against national institutions, therefore this Assembly demands the prime minister should step down immediately," the resolution added.
