ISLAMABAD: The FBR on Friday warned tax officers all over the country to declare their acquired assets till February 9, 2015 otherwise their performance allowance would be blocked, writes Mehtab Haider.
FBR’s total strength is 27,000 staffers but it is obligatory only officers to file declaration. Almost 95 percent officers are entitled to performance allowance and in case of discontinuation an amount equivalent to running basic pay of would be blocked. The reminder sent out by FBR to all officers states that “with reference to Board’s letter # 4(1)ERM/2013 dated 05.08.2014 and reminder dated 17.11.2014 on the above subject and to say that a number of officers have still not submitted their declarations of assets despite sending them letters.
“The competent authority has taken a serious view of the situation and has therefore directed to initiate process to discontinue performance allowance of those officers who fail to file their declaration of assets by 09.02.2015.
“2. It is therefore intimated that the performance allowance of officers who fail to submit their declaration of assets for the year ending 30.06.2014 will be discontinued/de-notified after 09.02.2015.
“3. All officers are requested to circulate information to the concerned officers working under their administrative control.”
