ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday said terming the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report in the Panama Papers case ‘Imran Nama’ by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders was in fact an honour for him as all his allegations against the Sharif family had proven true.

The PTI chief said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar should resign for their involvement in money laundering.

Talking to media persons here, Imran asked Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq to resign for his failure to uphold the sanctity of parliament. Imran said that Ayaz Sadiq should resign if he has any respect for himself. He also called Ishaq Dar as the frontman for Nawaz Sharif and said Dar did money laundering for Nawaz Sharif and also admitted the same before the JIT.

Imran said the JIT report had proven the fact that the letter from Qatar was a fraud and that Maryam Nawaz was the beneficiary owner of offshore companies which the Sharif family had been denying from the very first day. He also came harsh on the PML-N leadership for not accepting the JIT report and terming it as biased. “For them only those institutions work properly which help obstruct deliverance of justice,” he said.

The PTI chairman said that the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) Chairman Zafar Hijazi indulged in tampering of documents while the Intelligence Bureau (IB) also provided documents to the government in an attempt to save criminals.

Imran said the generations of Sharif family have been indulging in fraud and telling lies while Nawaz Sharif also stayed away from truth in parliament and before the JIT. He said he would file a reference in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against Shahbaz Sharif as to why he allowed setting up sugar mills when there was a ban.To a question whether he would appear before the Supreme Court, Imran said the court had not summoned him. However, he said the record sought by the court would be provided.
