38 cases registered against hotels,landlords for violating renting rules

Police have registered cases against 38 hotels and landlords for violation of Punjab Information of Temporary Residence Ordinance 2015 as the accused did not pass on to the police the required particulars about their tenants.
According to Rawalpindi Police spokesman the cases have been registered against the accused under Punjab Information of Temporary Residence Ordinance 2015.
City police registered FIRs against hotel owners namely Mushtaq Waqas, Qadeer Akash, Tajamal and Abbas Ali while Gungmandi police registered cases against Hamad Zakar, Nazir Ahmed, Siddique Jahangir, Syed Zameen, Raza Ullah and Shakoor.
Similarly Pirwadhai police registered FIRs against hotel owners identified as Abbas Khan, Yaseem Israr, Ghazanfar Usman, Rafaqat Sarfraz Khan, Muhammad Alam, Muhammad Safeer, Ishtiaq Zahoor, Shehzad and Fazal as they had not submitted details of tenants guests to the police.
Waris Khan police have also registered cases against house owners Noor Hussain, Riaz ud din, Mushtaq Khan Abbas, Altaf Waqar and Nadeem Shehzad.
Two cases were also registered against Majid and Zaheer in Banni Police Station while Sadiqabad police registered cases against Farooq Abbasi, Munir Hussain, Rashid Mahmood and Usman Javed the landlords who did not give details of their tenants to the police station.
Gujar Khan police also lodged FIR against hotel owner Khurram Shehzad under Temporary Residence Ordinance 2015.
The spokesman informed that on the special directive of CPO action in accordance with the law is being taken against hotel owners not keeping records of their guests.
Security arrangements in the country have been upgraded since December 16. Under the Punjab Tenants Ordinance 2015 details of new tenants should be provided to police within 24 hours of giving possession of the property he added.
