Turkish experts to improve traffic system: CCPO

LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Amin Wains has said that the services of traffic experts of Turkey are being hired to improve the traffic system for the convenience of citizens.

Steps will  be taken according to the modern requirements in City Traffic Police Lahore, he said, adding, "We are grateful to the Islamic brotherly country Turkey and Turkish National Police that they sent police officers to Pakistan for the reforms in Dolphin Saquad, Anti-Rite Unit and to change the Thana Culture in Punjab Police." He expressed these views during a meeting with a Turkish delegation on Friday. Lahore Chief Traffic Officer SSP Rai Ijaz Ahmad was also present.

The CCPO said, "I hope that Lahore Police with the help of Turkish delegation will facilitate road users, and traffic wardens will be trained in friendly environment. Through this, the distance between the police and the people will be decreased." 

Chief Traffic Officer Rai Ijaz Ahmad briefed the CCPO that all the information about the administrative structure and issues of City Traffic Police Lahore had been provided to the Turkish delegates which would enable them to implement the modern reforms. The Turkish delegation is providing its services first to improve the traffic system of Lahore, after that the same system will be launched in all the districts of Punjab. 

Endoscopy: Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education  Secretary Najam Ahmed Shah has said that six advanced endoscopy suites and state-of-the-art hepatitis clinics will be established in Southern Punjab in addition to autonomous medical institutions of Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Rawalpindi.

In a handout issued on Friday, he said the institutions which were selected for the purpose were included Sahiwal District Headquarters, Teaching Hospital, Nisther Hospital, Nishter Medical University, Multan, Bahawal Victoria Hospital, Quaid-i-Azam Medical College, Bahawalpur, DHQ Hospital, Sargodha Medical College, DHQ Teaching Hospital, Dera Ghazi Khan Medical College, DG Khan and DHQ Teaching Hospital Shaikh Zayed Medical College, Rahimyar Khan. 

The health secretary said this revolutionary step would not only help prevent hepatitis and gastroenterology related diseases but also effective treatment all over Punjab according to international guidelines. Ameer ud Din Medical College/Lahore General Hospital Principal Prof Ghayas un Nabi Tayyab is looking after the project, he concluded.
