Low gas pressure, long power shutdown make life hell

LALAMUSA: People are facing several problems due to low gas pressure in the city.
They told The News that they often reached their workplaces as women could not prepare breakfast due to extreme low gas pressure. They said low gas pressure coupled with long power shutdown had made their lives miserable. They alleged that the officials observed shutdown for a short period at some feeders, including City and Main Bazaar, while the burden was shifted to other feeders like Pak Pour and Dhama, which were treated as rural grids. “A few weeks ago, PML-N MNA Ch Jafar Iqbal visited the area and people complained that unjustified loadshedding was being observed in the area. The MNA assured them of scheduled shutdown, but the situation is still unchanged,” they said. They demanded the authorities concerned immediately end unjustified loadshedding.
CALL TO REMOVE ENCROACHMENTS: People have appealed to the TMA high-ups to order immediate removal of the encroachments.
They said encroachments along Service Road and pavement near Fruit Market were creating problems for the citizens. They alleged that some TMA officials allowed vendors to run business along the roads after getting bribe, making them inaccessible. They said that makeshift shops had been established on the roof of the drain and as a result, motorcyclists could not pass through it.
