Qureshi trying to be in news after Raymond’s disclosures: PPP
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Sunday took exception to a statement of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi saying that he was trying to be in the limelight after the disclosures made by the CIA agent Raymond Davis in his book.
"There was never a question of giving Raymond Davis diplomatic immunity," said PPP Senator Saeed Ghani while reacting to the statement. He said Shah Mehmood Qureshi was claiming fictitious events and there was not an iota of truth in his claim.
He said it was a huge shock to Shah Mehmood Qureshi when he was not made foreign minister in the cabinet reshuffle at that time. He said the then government and all relevant institutions were on the same page regarding Raymond Davis case and asked why suo moto action was not taken by the judiciary when at that time suo-moto notice was taken even on the price of Samosa. Ghani advised Shah Mehmood Qureshi to come out of his imaginary world and try to avoid talking about things which never existed or happened.
