Call to return property to Hindus

MASIHA Millat Party (MMP) Chairman Aslam Sahotra said Friday that leases for Hindu property should be given to members of that minority only.
Sahotra said this in reaction to an announcement made by PML-N leader and Evacuee Property Board Chairman Siddiqul Farooq that leases for Hindu commercial and agricultural property around temples would be extended from the usual one or two years to 10 or 16 years. Sahotra said this epitomised the injustice to minorities because the lessees were non-Hindus. He said Hindus property should be taken from all non-Hindu lessees such as Muslims and Christians and given to landless Hindus so that they could improve their conditions.
