He said the PML-N government was taking serious steps for overcoming energy crisis at the earliest.
Addressing a high-level meeting here Friday, which reviewed in detail the progress of various energy projects, Shahbaz Sharif said the Punjab government was working on projects of generating energy through coal, hydel, solar, bio-mass, bio-gas and other alternative sources; 100 Megawatt solar power project was at the final stages at Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park Bahawalpur and the Punjab government was executing this project through its own resources.
The chief minister said overcoming energy crisis was the government priority and effective steps were being taken for coping with the problem of energy shortage. An effective system of checks and balances is essential for the provision of best services to the citizens; therefore, the Punjab government is introducing the system of reward and punishment in the provincial departments and institutions.
