The visitors cleaned graves and showered petals, as well as offering 'Fateha' and lit incenses. Some laid wreaths while others sat in silence and remembered the old days. Special flower stalls were also set up near all the graveyards in Rata, Pirwadhai, Eidgah and Dhoke Munshi for the people to buy flowers, rose water and rose petals.
“I have been visiting graveyard on the occasion of Eid since my childhood. My father used to take our whole family with him, and now when he is not with us, I come here with my children,” said Maqsood Shaikh, a resident of Rawalpindi.
As part of rituals, the people visit graveyards especially on the occasion of Eid to offer 'Fateha' for the departed souls of their dear ones.
