On my way

Every year, two or three days before and after Eidul Fitr, transporters increase the fare astronomically. Unfortunately, many people happily pay almost double price for a ticket. The local administration, at such times, remains away from the scene. In our country, the elite exploits the poor. No redressal for such extra charges is available to commuters who are forced and bound to pay according to the demand of service providers.
The government must take concrete steps to tackle this issue. It should announce the standard fare for all routes. If anyone found overcharging the commuters, the government should impose heavy financial penalty on him.
