Accused ‘commits suicide’ in Lahore CIA custody

LAHORE: A man in the custody of Civil Lines CIA reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself here on Friday. The deceased was identified as Faisal. He was involved in a case registered against him under Section 392 PPC. According to the police, the investigating officer locked him up in a room and went to offer Jumma prayers. On return, he found him dead hanging by a piece of cloth from the ceiling. However, the deceased’s family believed that severe torture by the police claimed his life. Police have removed the body to morgue and registered a case against an ASI and a constable.
