LAHORE: Noted religious scholars from different schools of thought and representatives of civil society announced to observe Al Quds Day on Jumatul Wida (today), and hold special meetings and demonstrations outside mosques after Friday congregations to highlight the issue of Zionist occupation of Muslim holy land and mosque, Al Quds.  This was announced by the joint communiqué issued by an Ittehad-e-Ummat Conference held under the aegis of Tanzim Ittehad Ummat (TIU) Thursday.

The religious scholars in special meetings and prayer leaders of Friday congregations would highlight the issue of Palestine’s independence and pass resolutions against Israel’s illegal occupation of the holy Muslim land and holy mosque, Al Quds. They also announced to launch countrywide movement for the liberation of Al Quds after Eidul Fitr.   The communiqué urged upon Muslim governments to resolve their differences through dialogue and not allow the enemy to cash in on their petty differences to weaken the Muslim world and plunder the Muslim resources.

It also stressed the need for holding a Muslim summit conference as soon as possible to solve the internal differences and other pressing issues facing the Muslim world.  The TIU also resolved to write letters to Muslim rulers and leaders to take extra measures for uniting the Muslim world so that the enemy conspiracies for dividing the Muslim world for further plundering its resources could end.

The conference was chaired by TIU President Ziaul Haq Naqashbandi, while prominent speakers and participants included Dr Saad Siddiqi, PTI leader Tanzila Imran, Allama Muhammad Hussain Akbar, Jamiat Ahle Hadith leader Ibtesam Elahi Zaheer, Col Javed Kahlun (retd), Allama Zubair Ahmad Zaheer, Syed Ziaullah Bukhari, Allama Khalilur Rehman Qadri, women leaders Tamkeen Aftab and Shehzadi Aurangzeb.
