NAB distributes cheques among scams affectees

LAHORE

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) held a cheque distribution ceremony on Thursday in which cheques amounting to Rs12.61 million of recovered money were distributed among the affectees in Money Doubling and Qasr-e-Zauk scams. 

According to a NAB spokesman, NAB Lahore Director General Shahzad Saleem handed over 40 cheques to the affectees. The recipients included Ehsanullah amount Rs 473,342, M Aman Ali Rs 200,000, Muhammad Iqbal Rs 171,000, Khawar Firdous Rs 228,582, Ms Imtiaz Bibi Rs 95,000, M Yousaf Rs 100,000, Syed Muhammad Rs 97,500, Farooq Ahmed Rs 77, 386, M Arshad Rs150, 000, Muhammad Nawaz Rs237, 500, Ms Rukhsana Kausar Rs106, 590, Shahida Parveen Rs272, 147 Jahanzaib Rs 101,204 and Muhammad Aman Ali received Rs 2 million cheque in Qasar-e-Zauk scam.

While talking to the recipients, the DG said NAB is strictly following zero tolerance policy against corruption. Moreover, the spokesman said NAB was working on three pronged strategy of enforcement, awareness and prevention to culminate corruption and positively the same has started yielding positive results.

minorities’ role: Provincial Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Khalil Tahir Sandhu has said that minorities are playing a pivotal role in the progress of the country and their talented students are serving the country in every sphere of life.

During a meeting with MPAs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora and Kanji Ram in camp office of of the department, the minister said the Punjab government was endeavoring to provide latest and state-of-the-art educational facilities to intelligent students of minorities, being equal citizens of Pakistan and as important for the development and progress of the country as other communities.

Under the Punjab chief minister’s special educational initiative, minority students are also being provided with laptops, educational scholarships, IT and skills training besides best possible educational facilities, he added.
